More than one way to skin the cat

There is an old Tamil song with meaningful lyrics that talks about a kind and queen who had a son.
The prince who went hunting happened to catch a rabbit with 3 legs (one of the legs had probably been torn off by traps set in the forest).

Having caught a rabbit with 3 legs and never having seen one with 4 legs he kept insisting that all rabbits have only 3 legs.

You will not believe that the above is possible until you have discussions in LinkedIn with the ‘educated’ professors there.

Back in 2010 I had said that ‘Phonological awareness deficit ‘ is not the cause of children being unable to read. The professors asked me for DATA and despite me having told them that I am not a trained teachers they kept asking me for my credentials.

Now, research reports have surfaced echoing what I had said.

To-date no research has been done on why kids disengage from learning to read as it is not easy for researchers to replicate what I had done as you need to teach on a one on one basis for more than a few years and watch kids expressions. Furthermore you have to listen to the same kids reading in languages other than English which use the same Roman/Latin alphabets. Obviously those from US and UK are unable to do that.

Back then I also wrote about why kids disengage from learning to read and no one wanted to listen.
I have now, after collecting many corroborative evidences, written a book detailing why kids disengage from learning to read. There is more than one way to skin a cat.

You will be able to buy the book within 3 weeks but for those who can’t wait you may read it in kindle or as an e-book. Click on the words ‘Amazon Kindle’ at the bottom of the link attached and then you may read the sample pages while waiting for the hard copy.

Please buy a few copies and pass them to libraries, kindergartens and primary schools so that illiteracy may be reduced if not eradicated.

The hard copy will be out in the market around the world within the next 2 weeks. Please get a copy and read it. Then buy a few copies and distribute them to libraries, and kindergartens so that illiteracy rate may be reduced if not eradicated completely.

Many educators talk about wrong teaching but no one has ever said what is it that is being taught wrongly and causing kids to shut down.

Feel free to comment or ask any questions you may have on the book.
