A book with the first family words

Let your imagination run wild and think of all the phrases/ sentences you can make with the family words and with the sight words you have introduced to your child.

Look for a list of sight words as introduced by Edward Dolch in the 1930's. You may find them here or/and here.

You may write the words Dolch words in your search button and see if you prefer other web sites.

Introduce and make your child learn and memorise at least one word a day. In 220 days he would have learned to spell all the 220 words he has to learn to read fairly well. You may introduce the sight words as you introduce them in your book created by you.

Now, here is what I did with the first family words:

A fat cat sat on a mat.
A fat rat.

A bat.

A hat.

Note: I had pictures drawn by a village girl for me.
The picture for a bat was that of a baseball bat and not the type that flies.
