Quality of English teachers matter

 

The above was the headline of page 9 of our local newspaper – The Daily Express.

We read similar headlines every year after the school results have been announced.

However, has the percentage of those who fail their English language reduced in the last 10 years?

If the answer is ‘no’ should we not ask ourselves “WHY NOT?”

I have copied a section from that article as shown below. I made 2 comments and have yet to receive any reply. I would be grateful if any of you can please give me your comments.

Dyslexia – Is the teaching method at fault?

                                                                 

Among the many definitions of dyslexia, one definition I can accept is ‘To have more difficulty learning to read (in English) and dealing with text than would be expected for a given cognitive ability’.

English Language........it is weird

This is just another example of how difficult the English language can be to a dyslexic.
