How liars create the ‘illusion of truth’

“Repeat a lie often enough and it becomes the truth”, is a law of propaganda often attributed to the Nazi Joseph Goebbels.

I was thinking about what to write after my previous post.  This morning I received an email from Du Chinese to which I have a free subscription. The first story I read that an unpaid subscriber can read was an idiom entitled, “If a third person said that there are tigers on the street, would the King believe it?” You may read the Chinese story and its translation into English. During the Coronavirus period, many of my friends rushed to get their vaccination done. Why? Where had they left their brains? Why was there a frenzy? The story above explains.

Similarly, almost all the Chinese above 40 years of age don’t know Pinyin. They don’t know one can write to each other in Pinyin and be understood as well as when they write in Hanzi (Chinese Characters). Yet, when someone writes and says that Pinyin is not for comprehension, they keep silent.

They don’t comment on such important educational issues but will share any news on politics or how China is progressing. I am glad that China has progressed but it is China that is screwing up the teaching of Pinyin around the world.

What is China doing with the proliferation of Chinese Citizens on social media teaching Pinyin wrongly?

Every day, I see Tweets on Twitter by a guy called Songpinganq @songpinganq who writes about actions taken by China against disinformation on social media.

This morning among several Tweets by him was the following:

In China, a single social media post that is deemed disinformation by the government can cost you 50 social credit points, leading to arrest and blacklisting.

What is China doing about all the misinformation by so-called teachers from China teaching Pinyin wrongly on Facebook?

One of many is the following:
