Luqman Michel vs Astro and Baby TV (Part 3)

After almost a month and not making any headway I decided to write to the CEO of Astro.

Here are my two emails to the CEO of Astro.

Sent: Monday, 8 October 2018, 17:48:45 GMT+8
Subject: My complaint on your programme

Dear Mr.Tan,
Here are emails I had sent to your Astro officers and I am disappointed with their "We have escalated the matter to the relevant department".

This morning I wrote again and telephoned Astro.
Following my complaint, I received an email asking me for what the matter is about.

Instead of wasting time I am writing to you directly and hope to get a response within one week.

For every student, I successfully teach your programme would probably be making a few hundred students shut down.

Please acknowledge receipt of this email.
Thank you and kind regards,
Luqman Michel

Dear Mr.Tan,

The programme I had complained about is the following programme.

It was aired on Astro channel 618 and on 968 on Unifi

Phonemes of alphabets are taught wrongly and this will definitely cause kids to shut down.

Your programme will be one of the reasons for illiteracy among kids who are predisposed to shutting down.

I hope you will take that programme off from the air and ask viewers to delete the show if they have recorded it.

Wish you well,
Luqman Michel

Here is a response from Astro following my complaint to the CEO. The email is from the Assistant Vice President of Learning Content Group.

Dear Mr Luqman,

We have highlighted your book & contact details to them, and they will be in touch if there is a suitable slot in the future season.
·         In addition, your contact details has been shared with the producers of Mingguan Wanita, and again, they will be in touch if there is a suitable opportunity
·         Astro’s learning team will further evaluate your study and book and see how it may be incorporated into plans for our 2020 content, as 2019 had already been fixed beforehand.

Please could you reconfirm if these teams may contact you via your personal email or your mobile number 019-8500258 ?  Do let us know if there are any other preferred means of contact.

Dear Ms Razlin Johar,
Thank you very much for your email dated 10.10.2018 copied below.

Let Baby TV do what they have to do.

Meanwhile, I strongly suggest that you immediately stop airing Baby TV episode that I had specified earlier because it is detrimental to all kids watching the programme.

Thank you and kind regards,
Luqman Michel

I had asked Astro to read a copy of my book to see how their programme will affect kids who are predisposed to shutting down.

I am sure there must be some educators whom Astro can contact and then either accept what I have written in my book or ask me to explain on anything they cannot understand or disagree with.

The longer Astro takes to withdraw that programme the more the kids who will end of disengaged from learning to read.

These are the kids who will be wrongly classified as dyslexic.
