David Boulton/ Luqman Michel on LinkedIn

Let us take a short break from ‘Corroborating Evidences’ and see what David Boulton has to say. 

The following was a discussion with David Boulton on LinkedIn. sometime in 2017.

Luqman Michel:

Dr. David Boulton, I have read 'The Children of the Code' a few times. I have been teaching kids who have shut-down for more than 10 years now. I have written as to why these kids shut down when it comes to the English language but not when they read in Malay and Romanised Mandarin which use the same 26 alphabets. A little thought as to why this is the case should give you the answer. I know the answer and have written to you and I did not get a response. Dr. David Boulton, what is written in the Children of the Code is what most people already know - about 10 to 20 % of kids all over the world cannot read in the English language. I know why but do you have an ear to listen?

Dr. David Boulton’s response:

I concern myself with all children (2/3 of U.S. kids) who do not reach grade level proficiency (reading transparent to learning at their grade level).

At the core are three issues (which are described in detail on the COTC site): 1) insufficient readiness for the challenge of learning (auditory/linguistic/cognitive/speed) 2) unnatural confusion 3) self-blame>shame (distraction/avoidance)

Children of the Code avoided advocating solutions so as not to be dismissed as having an agenda other than learning deeper into the challenge. 3 decades of work have culminated in a solution, an entirely different approach to supporting learning to read:

I complained about the first 2 video clips above and they were removed immediately by David Boulton without any explanation or apology.

The above behavior of David appears to be rampant in the USA among some of the top educators. They either delete one’s comments or just ignore it. How will we ever learn from one another.

What a whole load of rubbish/nonsense! 

How much deeper is he going to go and for how many more years?

Billions have been given as donations and grants over the past 15 years and what have we gained from the study?

David does not want to give the solution as he nor his gang have any idea as to why many kids are unable to read. Yet, he will not discuss this matter with me since I first wrote to him in 2012 and then again in 2015 and finally in 2017.

What unnatural confusion? Teachers teach sounds of consonants with extraneous sounds. This causes many kids shut down and then we call it unnatural confusion?
